Youth Safety Education Day!
Partnership Opportunity
What is Youth Safety Education Day?
This day is designed to bring safety education and awareness to youth in Saskatchewan (ages 15-24) about the importance of workplace health and safety. Gaining this information before they step foot into the workforce or while they are employed in their first jobs is a key step in workplace injury prevention.
What you need to do
All we ask is that you work on something safety-related (in any way you choose) for up to an hour on (or around) September 10th to help bring awareness to young people about the importance of workplace health and safety. We offer a free partnership package on our website that provides resources and activities on workplace safety and mental health awareness for you to utilize. You will have access to our new partnership package by May 2020.
Understanding the Stats
Young people are a VERY important part of our workforce. One in every 6 workers in Saskatchewan is under the age of 25. Almost one-third of high school students work while attending school full-time. Many will continue to work while participating in post-secondary education programs. Unfortunately, all too often a young person’s first work experiences are not as rewarding as they should be.
-
Young and new workers are the most at risk for injury on the job.
-
Nearly 4,000 young workers are injured every year in our province. The Regina and Saskatoon hospitality industries account for approx. 800 of these injuries.
-
Young worker injuries are not declining fast enough. On average, 3 young people die on the job each year.
These heartbreaks and injuries CAN be prevented with proper safety training and education. We are reaching out to you to help us raise awareness and take a safety leadership role by partnering with us for Youth Safety Education Day 2020. Be part of the cultural safety change today.
Get Involved! Be A Safety Leader
This year we plan to connect with over 225 schools, organizations and industry members to help us reach over 40,000 youth across Saskatchewan. These partnerships are fundamental in reaching as many youth as possible with our messaging and materials to ensure safety is always on top of mind. Partner with us and you will receive a FREE Youth Safety Education Day swag bag delivered directly to your door filled with free promotional items from us and some of our sponsors to be used as prizes for participation.
We are proud to share that in 2019 we partnered with 221 schools, organizations, and industry partners which helped us reach 40,000 youth in our province in a meaningful way. Thank you!

A day proudly proclaimed by the Government of Saskatchewan since 2012!
For the past 8 years, we have approached the Ministry of Education in Saskatchewan to dedicate a day to the safety of our youth in this province.
The ministry has graciously agreed and exercised its powers to designate September 10th from 2012-2019 as Youth Safety Education Day. We have reached out to them once again to have the day proclaimed for the 9th year in a row!

We also provide you with the ability to market your organization through sponsorship. Support can be provided through the donation of resources, promotional items, marketing materials, gift cards, etc. Your items will be included in our FREE YSED packages which will be distributed to all our partners.
