That’s A Wrap On Try a Career 2022!

After two long years, our advisors were beyond thrilled to be back in person for the WorkSafe Grade 9 Try a Career Event that took place last week from May 16th-19th, where grade 9 students from several school divisions across the province gathered for over four days to explore, learn, and hear about various career opportunities! With a strong focus on workplace safety, Service Hospitality was honoured to be a part of this year’s event!

Our safety advisors had a jammed-packed week in Balgonie, Saskatchewan, advocating workplace safety in all working environments to 3,000 plus students! At our booth, students had the chance to explore career opportunities in health and safety and spin the wheel to put their safety knowledge to the test.

Congratulations to our lucky winner Burke from Martin High School, who won our $300 grand prize package stuffed full of summer necessities such as beach towels, pool floaties, outdoor speakers and more!

On behalf of Service Hospitality, thank you to all the students and teachers who visited our booth over the week and WorkSafe and the Regina District Industry Education Council for organizing this incredible event! We look forward to coming back next year!

Testimonials:

“As a Safety Advisor, it was neat to see the students interact with our booth and answer health and safety questions with ease. While they may not know their chosen career path in grade 9, I am confident that our future workers will be entering the workforce full of health and safety knowledge!”
-Brelyn Klotz, Employer Service Advisor

“The Balgonie Stardom was electric! What an energetic and positive environment to learn about career opportunities! It was great to see an interest in learning about workplace safety. Students had a blast putting their safety knowledge to the test with our spinning wheel!”
-Brooklynn Radmacher, Safety Advisor
