On November 30th, 2017, the Regina Catholic School Division presented the SHSA with a plaque honouring our educational partnership and the impact we are having with them on youth workplace safety.
This partnership has been the foundation for the SHSA Youth Initiative since inception in 2012. Because of this partnership, we have seen Youth Safety Education Day grow from nothing to involving 35 schools, 70 other organizations and 18,031 youth. We’ve engaged elementary and high school students and have made an impact.
In the end, this is just about protecting our kids, and our future. It’s working too… injuries among youth have declined 3 times faster than any other age demographic during this time.
We are extremely appreciative of the recognition and will use it as motivation to continue to build on this very important initiative.
