Safety in the Summer… Summer Skills Camp 2022!

The Regina District Industry Education Council has teamed up with Skills Canada SK and Miller Catholic High School to host their annual Summer Skills Camp on August 15th-19th, 2022. The Summer Skills Camp focuses on hands-on learning in several industries such as Digital Photography, CAD/Robotics, Small Engine Repair, Culinary Arts, Game Design, Cosmetology and Welding for grade seven to nine students.

Our Safety Advisor, Brooklynn Radmacher, kicked off the Culinary Arts program with an educational safety presentation on kitchen and fire safety to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to stay safe when they enter the kitchen and workforce. Students will learn about basic safety knowledge, kitchen safety skills, as well as their rights and responsibilities in the workplace as young workers.

“On behalf of Service Hospitality, thank you to the Regina District Industry Education Council and Skills Canada SK for having us present to your students about the importance of kitchen and workplace safety. Thank you to Miller Catholic High School for hosting and sharing your environment with us. We’ve participated in the Culinary Camp since 2019 and are very honoured to be doing so again this year. See you all next year!”
