Safety in Schools Teacher Training at Campus Regina

On Monday, January 28^th, Safety advisors, Danielle Bachart and Keri Rieger, attended Campus Regina’s Professional Development Day.  They facilitated a session for teachers to learn about Safety in Schools’ online courses and how to utilize them in their classrooms. With this training, teachers will now be able to enroll students in a variety of safety courses.

The following is a list of the available Saskatchewan courses:

• Bear Safety Awareness

• Cold Stress Awareness

• Fall Protection Equipment

• Hazard Recognition

• Heat Illness Awareness

• Job Safety Analysis

• Personal Protective Equipment

• WHMIS 1988 – 2015 (GHS)

• Wildlife Awareness

• Workstation Ergonomics

• Life Lessons – Learning the Hard Way

• That’s Got to Hurt – Lessons from the Workplace

• Heavy Machinery – It Always Wins

Upon completion of a course, students receive a certificate to use on their resume for future job opportunities. By educating Saskatchewan students about workplace safety, we are striving to reduce the youth injuries occurring within our province.
