Your organization’s Occupational Health & Safety Committee is an integral part of your Safety Management System. The Committee helps review safety policies and procedures and plays a crucial role in workplace inspections and incident investigations. 

This course will cover:

  • Roles and responsibilities of each Committee member
  • Occupational Health & Safety Committee legislation 
  • How to make your Safety Committee truly shine within your organization

OH&S Committee Training Part 2: Workplace Inspections

How often does your organization conduct inspections, and who is responsible for conducting them? Effective health and safety inspections are one of the most critical incident prevention tools in your organization’s health and safety program. 

This course will cover:

  • How to prepare, conduct and evaluate a workplace inspection
  • Types of inspections, covering both formal and informal 
  • Who should be involved, and in what capacity, for workplace inspections

  • All Key Staff who oversee and/or carry out workplace inspections, Managers, Supervisors, Human Resources, Health & Safety Committee Members and anyone wanting to increase their injury prevention knowledge

OH&S Committee Training Part 3: Incident Reporting & Investigations

Do you investigate all incidents, including near misses? Do you have an effective process to ensure all staff are reporting incidents? Incident reporting and investigation is a key method for correcting issues in the workplace to ensure the same incident never happens again. By understanding WHY an incident occurred, you can be confident you have the tools to correct it in the future. 

This course will cover:

  • Direct, indirect, and root causes with the understanding of how to prevent all causes from occurring again
  • Different types of investigations, including for near misses  
  • How to complete an incident investigation report competently and follow up

  • All Key Staff who oversee and/or carry out incident investigations, Managers, Supervisors, Human Resources, Health & Safety Committee Members and anyone wanting to increase their injury prevention knowledge
