Minerva Canada is pleased to announce the launch of its new award, the Minerva Rising Star Award as part of the 2022 Canada’s Safest Employers event.
This award recognizes leaders of the future with a demonstrated commitment to the integration of health and safety. Eligible nominees include full-time post-secondary students from Canadian universities or colleges in undergraduate, graduate, or co-op programs as well as employees with 2 or less years of work experience since graduation.

Excellence awardees will be announced in Canadian Occupational Safety (COS) magazine and online channels in August. Winners will be revealed at the celebratory awards show on October 20, 2022, and profiled in Canadian Occupational Safety magazine.

About the Award
Nominees must demonstrate a leadership ability to initiate and implement change in an academic or workplace environment related to health and/or safety, show dedication to the field through continuing education, special academic or work projects, career progression, generating student or worker safety awareness, mentoring and coaching and be able to demonstrate experience in the execution of safety initiatives while in school or work during the last 12 to 18 months. A team nomination and/or self-nominations are permitted.
The submission will describe a particular project or initiative the nominee(s) has initiated/developed/implemented or played an integral role in. It can address either a physical object (device, machine or system), a process, a tool, a methodology including for teaching H&S or increasing H&S awareness, a H&S management system or an issue pertaining to organizational culture or Health and Safety performance.
