Did you know? Young and new workers are the most at risk for injury on the job. Each year in Saskatchewan, approximately 3,200 youth under 25 are injured on the job and an average of two die yearly from workplace incident. (According to SK WCB stats in 2021)
Through our youth presentations, we aim to equip young people with the tools they need to make informed decisions when faced with danger and unpredictability. As young adults transition to unfamiliar settings like the workplace, they may lack the experience to identify hazards and may feel uncomfortable seeking help if they feel unsafe. Ultimately, our goal is to instill in them the critical life skills of risk assessment and hazard recognition, which will serve them physically and psychologically throughout their lives.
Here at Service Hospitality, we are deeply concerned about the safety of future workers. That’s why we’ve developed youth safety presentations for elementary students, designed to educate them on specific safety knowledge, skills, and understanding. Our presentations are SK curriculum-aligned and presented in a fun yet educational way. Our classroom presenters and safety advisors, Beyanka and Dayton, are ready to talk to your students about safety at home, at school, in the community and online!
